WHY PET STRAPPING IS A STRONGER ALTERNATIVE OF STEEL STRAPPING ??
In some industries, steel strap is still the most commonly used strap. But there is an alternative named PET strap.
Some of the primary reasons many manufacturers might use Polyester Straps over Steel Straps :-
Cost
Polyester strapping is significantly less expensive than steel strapping and not as prone to cost fluctuations.
Impact Resistance
The impact resistance of PET strap is five times greater than steel strap. PET strap has higher shock absorbing capacity than steel strap.
Elongation Recovery
PET strap has slight elasticity and it tries to return to their original position under tension. PET strap has good elongation recovery while steel strap has no elongation recovery.
Corrosion Free
PET strap is rust free. It does not leave any stain on the pack
Ease of Handling
As compared to steel, polyester bands are relatively easy to place and remove and they have less risk of severe injury to novice users.
Safety risk
PET strap doesn’t have any sharp edges so it won’t cut or damage product and also it create a safe working environment for user. Steel straps have sharp edges that means workers always need to take extra caution and wear PPE.
