The process is as follows :
Step One
Collection of scrap plastic material from across the city’s waste collectors. Likewise, sorting of plastics with an automatic process or manually is done. This makes sure all the contaminants are removed from the plastic waste stream.
Step Two
The next process includes melting down the plastic directly into a new shape. Subsequently, shredding it all into ‘flakes’ is also considered at times. The second part of the process includes melting it all down through the extruder. This is followed by cooling the mold and finally processing it into Granules.
Each time plastic is recycled, stabilisers, fillers and compatibilizers must be added to protect the material from degradation. Secondly, This also helps enhance the crucial properties like mechanical properties, rigidity, thermo-mechanical resistance, the deformability and the impact strength of the recycled plastics.
